Supporting Your Child’s School Attendance
TESS along with the Department of Education have developed a range of helpful resources for parents to support the national school attendance campaign. These resources are designed to help families address issues that may affect a child’s ability to attend school regularly. The dedicated webpage includes practical guidance on:
- How parents can speak with an Education Welfare Officer (EWO)
- How to seek advice from the National Parents Council
- HSE advice on children’s health and wellbeing
- Other useful supports and information for families
You can access these resources here:
www.gov.ie/schoolattendance In addition, you can view a 30-second video ad highlighting these supports here: youtube.com/watch?v=mAQ3sffKy6U&feature=youtu.be We encourage all parents to explore these resources, they provide valuable guidance to help every child get the most from their education.
